Lite vacuum coffee canister 250 g, black glass β store whole beans mindfully
Lite vacuum coffee canister 250 g, black glass β store whole beans mindfully
This glass Lite coffee canister is designed to hold approximately 250 grams of whole coffee beans. Its rechargeable lid automatically creates a vacuum and restores it when some vacuum is lost. Useful for storing smaller quantities without operating a pump by hand. Keep the glass away from light, though: vacuum sealing does not block light or heat, nor does it make old beans fresh again.
- Automatic vacuum sealing at the touch of a button
- Detects and restores lost vacuum
- Glass jar for approximately 250 grams of whole coffee beans

Package contents

Why this helps make better coffee
You open the bag to weigh out beans and put the rest back. How you then seal that bag or supply is also part of your coffee routine. An open or poorly sealed package allows the beans to come into contact with the ambient air every time.
A storage container is not a solution for everything. Large quantities that sit for a long time, a warm spot next to the machine, and direct sunlight continue to require attention. The best purchase therefore starts with how much coffee you actually use.
The Lite has an electric lid that pumps air out of the sealed container. According to Barista Essentials, the lid checks whether the vacuum is lost and restores it automatically. So you don't have to pump the air out yourself with a hand pump.
This model opts for that basic function without the date, temperature, and humidity display of the Pro. The black lid belongs to a transparent glass container. The beans remain visible; light is therefore not blocked.
A sealed place for your beans, as part of careful storage and an appropriate purchase quantity.
Who is this suitable for?
This version is ideal for those who usually buy small bags of coffee and want to keep a supply of around 250 grams on hand. Its compact size helps you make a dedicated space for one coffee.
It can also be convenient when you weigh beans for each brew. Open the container, take out the required portion, and close it again. When frequently switching between coffees, it remains important to know which beans are inside and when you bought them.
For whom is this not necessary?
The pump is not intended for ground coffee. Small coffee particles can enter the mechanism and cause damage. Therefore, only store whole beans in this container.
A good, tightly sealed coffee package can already work practically if you use the contents quickly. You do not automatically need to buy an electric container. If you mainly want to block light on an open shelf, compare an opaque version or choose another storage location.
Does this fit your machine, routine or use?
-
Compatibility
This is a standalone storage jar; the size of your filter holder or the brand of your espresso machine does not matter. Do check where you place it and how much space you need to open the lid properly.
The stated 250 grams is an indication for coffee beans. Exactly how much fits varies with the size and density of the beans. Do not overfill the jar to fit a whole bag, and keep the sealing rim clear.

Advice from Geert-Jan the Barista Man
With over 10 years of experience in providing barista workshops at home, at businesses, and in Amsterdam, Geert-Jan is happy to share his advice.
From practice:
Geert-Jan the Barista Man helps you stay connected to the coffee you brew every day. By also tracking the roast date, purchase quantity, and flavor, you prevent yourself from focusing all your attention on a storage container and forgetting about the beans themselves.
My advice:
My advice: match your stock to your usage. If you brew little coffee, you'll get more out of a small amount of suitable beans than a large container holding the same stock for months.
Choose the Lite if you want automatic vacuum sealing and don't need the Pro's extra measuring features. If you first want to understand what freshness changes in your espresso, check out Roasting date and freshness. A freshness date on its own tells you less than knowing what you're tasting and how the coffee brews.
Here's how to use this in your coffee routine

Geert-Jan's tip:
Write the coffee name and roast date on a separate label or keep the original bag with the container. The Lite does not have a date indicator; a simple note will still help you keep track.
Occasionally note whether your espresso flows differently or tastes different while using the same amounts. This will help you recognize the differences between aging beans and an unintentionally altered coffee recipe.

Understand what freshness does to your espresso
Roasting date and freshness help you understand why coffee beans behave differently over time. A storage container is one part; what you buy and how quickly you use it also matters.
In The 3 Golden Rules of Espresso, you learn to approach your preparation using fixed weights and measured time. This allows you to assess changes more deliberately instead of adjusting the grind and amount of coffee all at once every day.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between Lite and Pro?
Both lids automatically create a vacuum seal and restore lost vacuum. The Pro also has a date indicator and displays temperature and humidity. This 250-gram Lite glass jar does not have those additional displays.
Can ground coffee go in this jar?
No. Barista Essentials recommends whole coffee beans, as ground coffee can end up in the vacuum pump. Use a different storage method suitable for ground coffee.
Why should a glass vacuum jar be stored in a dark place?
Glass lets light through. A vacuum seal doesn't change that. Choose a dark, dry place away from heat and also assess whether you are storing more beans than you use in time.
Can I wash the lid by hand or put it in the dishwasher?
Keep the electronic cover dry. There are no confirmed dishwasher instructions for the complete version. Refer to the product manual for the approved cleaning method and, if in doubt, ask the supplier for clarification.
