All key components of the barista process

Training on your own equipment

Practical practice with personal feedback

Over 10 years of specialty coffee experience

Complete barista training for companies and professional teams

The Ultimate Barista Experience is intended for organizations that want to give their team a broad foundation in the barista profession. Instead of training one individual subject, we combine coffee beans and flavor, espresso extraction and grinder adjustment, milk steaming and basic latte art with cleaning and maintenance.

The training takes place at your own workplace. This allows employees to practice with the same espresso machine, coffee grinder, coffee beans, and materials they will be using afterward.Geert-Jan the Baristamanbriefly explains techniques, demonstrates them, and then lets participants practice as much as possible themselves. Where necessary, actions are corrected immediately.

The content can be tailored to the team's level, the equipment present, and the daily coffee routine.

If everyone works differently, the same coffee tastes different every time.

A good espresso machine alone does not guarantee a consistent result. Grind, dosage, extraction, milk texture, and cleanliness all influence what finally ends up in the cup.

  • Various espressos

When employees use different doses or do not adjust the grind correctly, espressos can vary significantly in taste within a single working day.

  • Inconsistent milk texture

Too much or too little air, an incorrect steam wand position, or a temperature that is too high makes it difficult to consistently prepare the same cappuccino.

  • No shared routine

When every employee uses their own method, it is more difficult to maintain quality and quickly identify errors.

What do you learn during the Ultimate Barista Experience?

This comprehensive professional barista training combines the essential components of the barista process: coffee beans and flavor, espresso extraction and coffee grinding, milk texture and basic latte art, plus cleaning and maintenance. The emphasis is on practical understanding, hands-on practice, and correction.

Who is this complete training suitable for?

For companies, offices, restaurants, hotels, cafΓ©s, lunchrooms, and other professional organizations that wish to cover multiple barista skills in a single training session and possess a suitable semi-automatic espresso machine.

Practical principles

A full training session typically lasts about two hours. Four to five participants per practical session is often a good guideline, but larger teams can be split across multiple groups or training slots. The final structure will be tailored to your equipment, skill level, learning objectives, and available time.

Coffee quality is the result of multiple actions.

An espresso may start well with the coffee beans, but can still turn out wrong if the grind or dosage is incorrect. Good milk texture requires a different technique, while leftover coffee residue in the machine or grinder can also affect the flavor.

That is why this training treats the process as a whole. Employees not only learn to perform individual tasks but also gain insight into how coffee beans, grinding, extraction, milk, and maintenance influence one another. By practicing directly with their own equipment, the workflow can be continued in the same place afterwards.

Not just a single trick, but more control over the entire process from bean to cup.

This is how we structure the complete training.

We combine explanation, demonstration, and as much hands-on practice as possible on your own equipment.

1. Understanding what influences taste

We start with the basics needed to make better choices. Think about the origin of coffee beans, processing, roasting, freshness, and the influence of coffee beans on flavor. The explanation remains linked to the coffee you are actually working with. This creates a practical foundation for the next step: adjusting and evaluating espresso.

2. Practice espresso and milk yourself

After that, participants get behind the machine themselves. We work with elements such as dosage, grind, extraction time, and the taste of espresso. For milk-based drinks, participants practice adding air, circulation, temperature, and fine milk texture. Once the basics are established, simple latte art can also be practiced.

3. From technology to daily routine

Why choose a complete barista training?

One common foundation

The team approaches espresso, milk, coffee beans, and cleaning from the same principles, allowing them to work together more consistently.

Why choose a complete barista training?

Practice directly on your machine

The training takes place on the equipment that employees will continue to use afterwards. The technique therefore does not need to be translated from a training machine to the actual workplace.

Why choose a complete barista training?

Broad training in one session

Suitable when multiple components require attention and you do not wish to organize a separate training session for each topic.

Ultimate Barista Experience: the complete business training

"Wat bieden wij?"

Does this training fit your team?

The Ultimate Barista Experience is suitable for organizations looking to improve multiple areas at once. For example, when employees need more insight into coffee beans and espresso, when milk preparation varies between colleagues, or when there is a need for a single, unified method for brewing and cleaning. Participants do not all need to have the same level of experience. The content can be tailored to both beginners and staff who have more experience working with espresso.

Why train at your own workplace?

We're here to help you get the most out of your water sports adventures. Below, you'll find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions.

How many employees can participate?

Four to five participants per practical session is often a good guideline, as it ensures everyone has enough time to practice themselves. This is not an absolute limit. Larger teams can, for example, be divided across multiple groups, sessions, or half-days.

Do we need to provide coffee and materials ourselves?

Yes. In principle, the training takes place using your own espresso machine, coffee grinder, coffee beans, milk, milk pitchers, cups, and clean cloths. This ensures that employees practice with the very equipment they will be working with after the training.

I have another question...

A full barista training at your own workplace

The Ultimate Barista Experience is the comprehensive option within De Barista Shop's corporate training programs. While a specific training might focus solely on espresso or milk, for example, this program connects multiple aspects of the barista process.

Employees gain insight into coffee beans and flavor, practice espresso extraction and adjusting the coffee grinder, work on milk texture and basic latte art, and discuss how to properly maintain the machine, steam wand, and coffee grinder. The training remains practical throughout: brief explanations are followed by demonstrations, hands-on practice, and personal feedback.

Because we work as much as possible on your own semi-automatic espresso machine and coffee grinder, the training is tailored to the conditions in which employees prepare coffee every day.
